VDL150P Underwater Grabbing and Cutting Robot
The VDL150P Underwater Grabbing and Cutting Robot is a high-performance deep-sea device that combines powerful operational capabilities with a highly integrated support system. Designed for freshwater and seawater environments, it is ideal for deep-sea exploration, subsea pipeline maintenance, cable cutting, and underwater structure inspection and maintenance. The robot can operate stably at depths of up to 3000 meters, providing 150kW of power and a maximum horizontal thrust of 2.15 tons. With fully hydraulic drive for precise operations, it meets the complex and variable demands of marine environments. Its operational temperature range is from -20 °C to 60°C, and it can withstand sea conditions up to level 4, showcasing outstanding environmental adaptability.
The VDL150P consists of two main core modules: the power platform and the operation head. The power platform integrates hydraulic motors, an underwater camera, an electro-hydraulic power system, propulsion system, and sandblasting system to ensure strong power and precise positioning. The operation head module contains a lifting device and cutting device, with the cutting device supporting both disc cutting and rope-saw cutting techniques. These cutting methods cater to various object sizes, with the rope-saw technology particularly effective for cutting large cables or pipelines. The device is built using high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials and sealing technology, ensuring excellent waterproof, pressure-resistant, and corrosion-resistant performance to ensure safe operation in harsh environments and extend the equipment ’s lifespan.
The robot also features a remote operation system, allowing operators to monitor and control the device in real-time from the console, enabling flexible and efficient underwater grabbing and cutting operations. Equipped with precise sensors and a control system, the VDL150P can accurately locate target objects and perform efficient operations while providing multiple safety protection mechanisms. In case of anomalies, the robot automatically triggers an alarm or switches to a backup system. Compared to traditional manual operations, this equipment reduces labor risks and costs, significantly shortens project timelines, and minimizes resource wastage, providing an efficient, and safe solution for marine exploration and development.
