The Underwater Multifunctional Robot Achieves a Complete Success in Sea Trials

September 28, 2018

In September 2018, the underwater multifunctional robot custom-made by our company for China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Yangtze Power") successfully completed its first sea trial. This trial was divided into two major parts: the function demonstration in the shallow water area and the performance test in the deep water area. Relevant leaders of China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. participated throughout the process and highly praised the technological achievements of the robot developed by our company and the professional capabilities of our team.

First Day: The Function Demonstration in the Shallow Water Area Presents Many Highlights

On the first day of the trial, our company's technical team comprehensively demonstrated the core functions of the underwater robot to the leaders of China Yangtze Power through on-site operations in the shallow water area of the wharf. Under the command and control, the robot flexibly completed a number of tasks such as underwater movements, cutting, observation, grinding, salvage, and rescue, fully reflecting its intelligent and multifunctional design concept. What was particularly eye-catching was the demonstration of the collaborative operation of the underwater mother-son robot: when simulating the narrow environment of an underwater cave, the son robot with a diameter of only 3 centimeters precisely separated from the mother robot, deftly passed through the tiny hole to perform the target search task, and safely returned to the mother robot after completing the task. This breakthrough design solved the problem of detection in complex underwater environments and won warm applause from the on-site customer representatives.

The Next Day: The Deep Water Performance Test Highlights the Hard-core Strength

On the next day, the trial team moved to the deep sea area and carried out stringent tests on the key indicators of the robot, such as its current resistance, sealing performance, compressive capacity, and maximum diving depth. In the environment of strong ocean currents and high pressure, the robot's various performance indicators were stable, and the measured data all reached or exceeded the design standards, fully verifying its reliability and adaptability for deep-sea operations. After observing the whole process, the leaders of China Yangtze Power said that the achievements of this sea trial not only verified the excellent performance of the equipment but also demonstrated our company's leading position in the field of underwater intelligent equipment technology.

Empowered by Technology, Jointly Exploring a New Underwater Future

The success of this sea trial marks that the cooperation between our company and China Yangtze Power in the field of intelligent underwater equipment has entered a new stage. In the future, our company will continue to focus on the technological innovation of underwater robots, and use intelligent solutions with high precision and strong adaptability to help customers improve the operation and maintenance efficiency of underwater facilities, injecting scientific and technological impetus into the high-quality development of the clean energy industry.
